My husband is a motion graphic designer and I want an ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3.0 for him on our 8th anniversary !

Alright this is my entry for “Why do you want to win the ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3.0?” for chance of winning a Core Unlocker motherboard, the ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3.0.

Our current Motherboard - Asus M3N78-VM
For our desktop computer system repair and upgrade it's my husband who has been the sole authority and ASUS motherboards have always been his choice since then. I tidied the store room and found four boxes of ASUS motherboards there. Since we got married we only had four desktop pc upgrades. The latest was an M3N78-VM upgraded almost two years ago paired with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor. M3N78-VM provided us two year of truly satisfying home-theater experience and even off-the-work-scheduled-tasks like photoshop rendering stuffs, video editting , 3d-modeling and animation  right from our desktop. AMD-ASUS team up is really impressive hence we would actually want the same brand pair for our next upgrade hopefully this year.

I've read the reviews on ASUS M4A89GTD and got really excited on recommending this buy for my husband and honestly for myself too.

ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3.0 for my Husband's  3D Modeling and Motion Graphic Designs
He works in an interior design-architectural firm as a 3D modeller / motion graphic designer. His usual task is to create walk throughs of an interior of a building designed by a company architect. At few instances his boss would ask him to create an AVP for their company or maybe just about any three-dimensional modeling of a furniture that his colleagues would request him to do so. For motion graphic designs that requires a high performance GPU, ASUS M4A89GTD is just the right tool for him. M4A89GTD bested MSI 890GXM-G65 and MSI 785GM-E65 benchmarking tests for Handbrake Video Encoding and Multi-tasking tests. Though M4A89GTD is behind by 9 slim points from its counterparts in GIMP editing, the overall score still attests its high efficiency providing the highest stock and overclocked score from a straight average of the three component test scores.

In addition to a high graphics specification for animation, my husband is also a music enthusiast so he will find an 8+2 channel HD audio, SPDIF digital output very useful for his Ybanez Paul Gilbert Model Series paired with a Boss GT-10 effects processor during his guitar rocking sessions.

Way back in college he already is a PC geek. He wants to extract every bit of extra rocking features out of his hardware. The new 890GX chipset and SB850 Southbridge bring native SATA 6Gbps support, a better GPU for media playback and apparently massive overclockability. Stock performance from the Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 was on par with what is expected, and its overclocking performance was solid.  He surely would shed out some extra bucks for a plethora of advantages he can get out of having this board. Even the niggles with the PCI-E bandwidth didn’t prevent the board from being reasonably fast in games. Woah! I'd surely expect a clamour of vistors during weekends at home because of this. My brother-in-law and my father would spend hours and even days playing 3D war games such as Crysis and  Warcraft in their PCs and laptops . With USB 3 also integrated on the board, and the neat layout (even though tall DIMMs and large CPU coolers may clash), this is a great board for getting the most out of your Phenom II or Athlon II CPU.

ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3.0 for my Multitasking Needs as an Engineer and Image Specialist
I am a geodetic engineer who prefers to work on the technical side of my profession (not the usual field engineer who sees the world around from a telescopic view through his instrument!). I am into GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS (Global Positioning System) processing . For multi-tasking and high image processing tasks an 8xx model surely would fit such necessities. An 8xx model has a SATA 6Gb/s support in the southbridge. In a sense you are effectively doubling the amount of bandwidth through potentially up to six hard drives. In order to accommodate this increase, and also the amount of bandwidth necessary for USB 3.0, AMD doubled the A-Link bandwidth to 2GB/s (the link between the northbridge and southbridge).

Moreover the 890GX boards will support all current Phenom II and  Athlon II AM3 processors, and planned compatibility with the upcoming Phenom II X6 processors. So that's unlocking the power of 6 cores which is really great  for my data,  image processing and other multitasking chores.

For our home theater set-up inside our bedroom, an HDMI, DVI and D-Sub video outputs will give us excellent viewing experience while enjoying our popcorn movie week end with our kids.

Our future motherboard - ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3.0

I really want to take advantage of this chance of winning instead of buying a new motherboard for our desktop upgrade. In a way saving some extra bucks for the rainy days.  But apart from winning, I surely would consider a purchase of this board because of it's rich feature offered at an affordable and reasonable price. It fits our needs and fits our budget too.

This might have been my next big gift for my husband for our 8th anniversary this May 11, 2010.I'll keep my fingers crossed on getting this rare chance to win an ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3.0.
